Youth bold: Merano strikes in Eppan

HC Meran has announced a double personnel update, including a young new signing from Eppan.

Noah Frick moves from IHL club Eppan to a higher league (AlpsHL) in Merano, while Giovanni Mandruzzato extended his contract.

Frick, just 17 years old, began his young career in Eppan, where he has played for the youth teams and in Serie B. In the Italian second division, the tall defender (1,87 m, 82 kg) scored 11 points in 25 games last season. With the national junior team, Frick also won gold with the U18 team and bronze with the U20 team at the respective Junior World Championships.

Giovanni Mandruzzato (born 2004) moved to Merano for the first time last year and impressed with his talent. He earned his first points in his first season in the Alps Hockey League, but was slowed down by an injury in the final stretch of the season.
