Battle for Scudetto: Cortina is chasing the Foxes, Ritten wants revenge

The final series for the Serie A title begins on Tuesday in Klobenstein. The Rittner Buam duel with Cortina.

The first game in the best-of-three final series begins at 20 p.m. in the Rittner home stadium. Cortina is the defending champion and wants to grab its first title of the season again this year. With 1 championship titles, Cortina is hot on the heels of HC Bozen, who is the current record holder with 16 Scudetti. On the other hand, the Rittner Buam are longing for a trophy that they haven't won for a long time - and lost to the Ampezzans in the final last year. The South Tyroleans last won the Serie A title in 19.

Cortina goalie Hayden Hawkey, who was between the posts for the Rittner Buam last year, has a special role to play. He has to deal with a powerful offensive, because no other team has scored as often this season as Marco Insam & Co. An advantage for the South Tyroleans is the home advantage. If there is a decisive Game 3, Ritten would play it at home. Ritten coach Tray Tuomie is combative before the first match: “It won’t be easy, Cortina is a top team. We will give it our all and look forward to the opportunity to play for this title.
