Test derby: Val Gardena beats the Buam

A good week before the start of the season, HC Gherdëina won the derby between the two AlpsHL clubs against the Rittner Buam.

After a goalless opening period, it was Ethan Szypula who scored 1-0 for the Rittners in the middle of the second period after an assist from Diego Cuglietta (33.57). In the final period, however, the guests from Val Gardena turned the result on its head: first Yuri Cristellon equalized after a pass from Julian Senoner (45.29), less than two minutes later Stephan Deluca put the “Furie” 2-1 ahead (47.18). An empty-net goal from Davide Schiavone made the final score 3-1 for the guests (59.09).

This Saturday, the Rittner Buam are already aiming for their first title of the season. In the Italian Supercup final, they will host the Sapiens from Pergine in the Ritten Arena. The match starts at 20 p.m.
