HC Pustertal has extended the temporary contract of defender Viktor Svedberg for the duration of the 2024/25 season. The 33-year-old Swede came to Bruneck in mid-October with a tryout agreement and has played 18 matches so far. In these, the 2,06m giant with NHL experience managed three assists.
At the same time, the national team break was used in Bruneck to hold talks and analyse the situation in detail. "HC Pustertal cannot be satisfied with the inconsistent performances shown by the team," reads a club press release. At the same time, it is made unmistakably clear that "the coaching staff consisting of Jason Jaspers, Kohl Schultz, René Baur and Thomas Tragust is in no way up for discussion."
“It must be questioned whether the will is there among all players” Communication HC Pustertal
HC Pustertal is currently in tenth place, just in the pre-playoff zone. The club management is more concerned about the Wolves' commitment on the ice than the league table situation. The club says: "It must be questioned whether all players have the will to give their best for the club, team and fans. This willingness to perform, which has been neglected recently, does not fit in with the HCP's mission statement and is therefore demanded by the entire HCP family."
Now it's happening in quick succession
After the international break, Bruneck will be playing four so-called English weeks in a row. Captain Raphi Andergassen's team can count on seven home games and the support of the Puszta crowd, laying the foundation for reaching the season's goal of the playoffs. But things start on Friday with the difficult away game against league leaders Fehervar. HC Bozen, meanwhile, is already in action in Feldkirch on Wednesday.SP | G | U | V | TV | P | |
