Cole Hults is the first official interception for HC Bozen.

Move to Austria: Hults leaves the Foxes

This summer, Cole Hults returned to HCB Südtirol Alperia after a season in Slovakia. However, the defender was unable to replicate the performances of his first year in Bolzano. Now, Hults is the first official departure after the past season.

It has become apparent that Cole Hults will not be getting a new contract in Bolzano. The defender, who was projected to be a key player, failed to live up to expectations during the past ICE season. Despite some good starts, the offensive defender was too inconsistent and, overall, disappointing. Hults' departure, which was officially announced by HCB on Tuesday, is therefore no surprise.

The 26-year-old American will likely face the Sparkasse Arena next season. Hults is poised to move to Vienna, where he and his brother Mitch Hults (who played for Rytiri Kladno in the Czech Republic) are expected to join the Vienna Capitals as new signings. The deal is in the works; all that's missing is confirmation from the Vienna team.
