Russia wins the relay – Azzurri in fifth place

Starting runner Christian De Lorenzi did a good job. He remained clean in the prone stage and left the stadium in fifth position, immediately behind the leading Swedes. This meant that Ole Einar Björndalen's 14th Olympic medal came to nothing.

Russia wins the relay – Azzurri in fifth place
