Latsch is the big winner on state league Sunday

The 20th regional league round was concluded with four games on Sunday. In addition to a home win for Ligakrösus Brixen, the most important thing to note is a clear win for ASV Latsch.

The SSV Bruneck presented on Saturday, Brixen followed suit just 24 hours later with a 2-0 win against Kiens and restored their old lead of eight points at the top of the table.

Experienced and free-kick specialist Michael Cia and the 19-year-old Hannes Ausserhofer brought the still unbeaten team from Brixen onto the winning path in the second half. The Kieners, who had kept up well up to that point, had nothing left to counter this.

Behind Brixen and Bruneck, Latsch consolidated third place in the table with a 4-2 win against Leifers. The result doesn't even reflect the balance of power on the pitch. Latsch dominated the action and was already 2-0 up at halftime after a brace from Argentinian Matias Lunari. David Pitigoi with a penalty and Samuel Weiss with a free kick increased the result even further before Leifers scored two consolation goals in the last minutes of the game.

Laives in free fall

While Latsch is keeping the fourth Salurn at a distance, all alarm bells have been ringing in Leifers for a long time. In the second half of the season, the Unterlanders have only managed one win so far, most recently they were unsuccessful against Milland, Gitschberg, Ridnaun and now also Latsch. The result? Slipping to tenth place.

Weinstrasse striker Cristiano Zanotti scored twice.

Leifers is now threatened with a relegation battle - also because Weinstrasse Süd was able to score points behind it. The Red-Blues celebrated their second win in a row with a 2-0 win at home in Margreid against Gitschberg Jochtal. Promoted FC Gherdëina also scored a home win, defeating SSV Ahrntal 2-1 in a duel between the two mid-table clubs. Val Gardena's Jan Martin Vinatzer and Antonio Volino caused Teldra's third defeat in a row with their goals.
