Oberliga: A day of joy for Partschins and Naturns

The hot phase is slowly but surely beginning in the top league. Now, of all times, two problem children are acting up. Naturns was even able to bring down the front runner.

Partschins and Naturns experienced first-hand how hard the jump from the regional league to the top league can be in the first half of the season. The Lower Vinschgers barely got going after being promoted to the regional football upper echelon. But now the knot seems to have been broken: On Sunday, both Partschins and Naturns celebrated their fourth win of the second half of the season on the 23rd league matchday. As a result, the two neighboring clubs have temporarily left the relegation zone behind them.

The big coup was undoubtedly successful Naturns, that is at home against leaders St Pauls was able to win 3-1. One player experienced a game that he will probably never forget: Hannes Kofler. The brother of FC Südtirol talent Raphael Kofler was initially the unlucky one when he gave St. Pauls a 1-0 lead with an own goal. But shortly before and shortly after halftime, the tall midfielder was there with his head and turned the 0:1 into 2:1. Matthias Bacher scored the final score with a penalty.

Partschins has meanwhile found itself in a relegation hit against the Bolzano FC won 2:1. Double packer Olaf Stark became the hero of the day. Jacopo Marini's goal shortly before the end came too late. While Partschins is now one point above the relegation zone, Bozner FC has slipped to second to last place.

Stegen scores, St. Georgen stalks up

They also scored points in the relegation battle Stegen, that is in Tram won 1-0. Felix Gräber scored the goal of the day with a header in the 20th minute. At Tramin, the absence of the suspended top scorer Alex Pfitscher was noticeable.

The new league leader is Lavis, that is against Obermais won 3-1 away. A game day winner too St. Georgen, which is quietly approaching the top positions. The Jergina served on Sunday Dro 3-0 (Philipp Schwingshackl shone as a double goalscorer) and are now in 4th place in the table. The Pusterers also have to catch up on the match against Vipo Trento.
