Bayern with a shaky win, BVB and Leverkusen with a draw

Bundesliga Saturday had a lot to offer again. The league leaders from Bavaria trembled to victory, while Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund could only manage a draw.

FC Bayern Munich have found their way back to winning ways after their 0-3 defeat to Feyenoord Rotterdam in the Champions League. The Munich team won 2-1 in Freiburg on Saturday. However, the performance of the league leaders was by no means impressive.

It was the fourth win in the fourth Bundesliga match since the beginning of the year. The guests started the match better and soon took the lead: Eric Dier served his compatriot Harry Kane, who beat Noah Atubolu in the Freiburg goal to make it 1-0 - although the latter did not look particularly good when he conceded the goal (15th minute). Just two minutes later, Munich were unlucky when Jamal Musiala hit the post (17th minute). The 2-0 was only postponed, not cancelled: after the break, Min-Jae Kim rose highest for a corner and beat Atubolu for the second time (54th minute).

Exciting final phase

After the second goal, the game slowed down, and neither team was able to attack. In the 68th minute, Freiburg scored a goal, somewhat unexpectedly: Again, it was a corner, but this time Matthias Ginter turned the ball away in celebration after the header. In the final phase, the home team threw everything forward, becoming dangerous time and time again, but another goal was not forthcoming. FC Bayern thus trembled to an away win.

Borussia Dortmund, on the other hand, earned a point at home against Werder Bremen. The Black and Yellows, who had to play with a man down from the 22nd minute (Nico Schlotterbeck was shown a straight red card), took the lead in the first half through Serhou Guirassy, and shortly after the break BVB even increased their lead to 2-0 - unlucky Marco Friedl put the ball into his own net. Bremen, who then picked up the pace, came back with goals from Leonardo Bittencourt and Marvin Ducksch (both goals came within four minutes) - 2-2 was also the final score in the Signal Iduna Park.

Leverkusen drops points

Bayer Leverkusen, FC Bayern Munich's closest rival, played against RB Leipzig in Saturday's top match. Last year's champions dropped two valuable points there. Leverkusen got off to a dream start, taking a quick 18-36 lead thanks to goals from Patrik Schick (2th) and Aleix Garcia (0th). Leipzig struck back in the first half when David Raum halved the lead (41st). And although the home team only had an expected goals rate of 0,70 goals, another goal was scored: Edmond Tapsoba scored an own goal in the 85th minute.

What else happened in the Bundesliga? FC Augsburg beat 1. FC Heidenheim 2-1, with Keven Schlotterbeck scoring the winning goal in the 92nd minute. 1. FSV Mainz 05 also beat VfB Stuttgart 2-0 at home. Mainz moved up to sixth place and remains the surprise team of the season. In the evening game, Borussia Mönchengladbach celebrated a comfortable 3-0 home victory against bottom club VfL Bochum.
