Bochum and Holstein Kiel are relegated

FC Heidenheim, who won 3-0 (1-0) at Union Berlin, on the final matchday.VfL coach Dieter Hecking sent a remarkable signal last week, hoping to mobilize his last remaining strength in the relegation battle. Despite the rather hopeless situation, the head coach extended his contract, which was originally only valid if the club avoided relegation, until 2027 and intends to stay with the club in the second division. However, Hecking's hopes of having a chance to stay in the top flight on the final matchday were dashed against Mainz.
