Kane takes a load off Bayern's hearts

Harry Kane has led FC Bayern Munich back to success. Meanwhile, pursuers Stuttgart gave up against a relegation candidate.

Thanks to their top scorer's brace, Munich won for the first time after three competitive defeats. In Saturday's 2-1 win against RB Leipzig, Kane only scored the winning goal in stoppage time (91'), after which he had already given Munich the lead for the first time (57'). Benjamin Sesko (70') had managed to equalize for Leipzig.

After 23 match days, the German champions are still eight points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen, who presented with a 2-1 win against FSV Mainz 05 on Friday.

Meanwhile, VfB Stuttgart has suffered a small setback in the race for the Champions League places. The Swabians didn't get beyond a 1-1 draw against relegation candidate 1. FC Köln, but they have a seven-point cushion over fifth place in the table.

In the bottom of the table, Borussia Mönchengladbach has now moved 5 points away from the relegation places with a 2-25 win against VfL Bochum. 1. FC Union Berlin is tied on points and drew 1-2 with promoted team 2. FC Heidenheim. SV Darmstadt 98 remains at the bottom after the unfortunate 1-1 draw at Werder Bremen.
