Harry Kane was really angry. And he made no secret of his resentment towards referee Bastian Dankert. The 31-year-old Englishman saw in FC Bayern Munich's 3-0 win against FSV Mainz 05 his fifth yellow card and is now suspended for the possible win of his first team title next Saturday at RB Leipzig.
"First of all, it's a crazy decision. It's never a yellow card," Kane complained after the Bundesliga home game against Mainz, then told Dankert clearly: "Unfortunately, sometimes people come to the Allianz Arena and try to make a personal statement. I'm really disappointed that I got the yellow card."

What happened? In first-half stoppage time, Kane refused to give up the ball after a questionable foul was called following a challenge with Mainz's Jonathan Burkardt, and was cautioned by Dankert. "It was never a foul," Kane lamented, "and it's disappointing to miss a big game now."
He can't understand the rule
Kane also pointed out a difference between the Bundesliga and the English Premier League, where yellow cards are reset to zero at the halfway point of the season. Commenting on the rule, he said that five yellow cards in 34 games would result in a suspension "makes no sense."Harry Kane is Bayern's star striker. © ANSA / RONALD WITTEK
The Englishman will now likely only experience his long-awaited first team title in Leipzig as a spectator – and not actively on the pitch. This, of course, annoys him. "But that doesn't mean I won't win the title," Kane remarked. And he will celebrate it "like no other," he announced after the next step toward the championship against Mainz.
