Haaland injured: Man City fears for their star

Star striker Erling Haaland will be missing from English football champions Manchester City for the time being.

The Norwegian sustained a left ankle injury in the FA Cup quarterfinal against AFC Bournemouth (2-1). Further examinations will determine the exact length of his absence.

However, Man City expects Haaland to be available "for the remainder of the season, including the FIFA Club World Cup this summer." The English champions are one of 32 teams competing for the title at the Club World Cup in the USA from June 15 to July 13.

Even before his injury, Haaland had experienced a rollercoaster of emotions in the match against Bournemouth. First, the 24-year-old missed a penalty and then equalized for the fifth-placed Premier League side. Omar Marmoush, who came on for the injured Haaland, finally scored with his first touch to make it 2-1.
