Competition for PSG: Red Bull's new project

The French luxury group LVHM and the Austrian beverage manufacturer Red Bull want to get involved in the Parisian second division football club Paris FC.

Agache, the investment company of LVHM boss Bernard Arnault, is holding exclusive talks with Paris FC owner Pierre Ferracci about a majority stake, Paris FC announced. Red Bull is seeking a minority stake.

The aim is for the men's team of the second division club to be promoted to the top league, which would make the club in the capital a competitor to serial champions Paris Saint-Germain. Arnault's son Antoine Arnault will represent the family on the board of directors of Paris FC in the future.

The beverage company Red Bull has already invested in several football clubs in the past, including Red Bull Salzburg and RB Leipzig. Red Bull is said to be primarily responsible for recruiting young talented players at Paris FC. Just last week, the company caused a stir by hiring Jürgen Klopp as the new Head of Global Soccer.
