Death causes game cancellation at FC Barcelona
The match in Spain’s La Liga between FC Barcelona and CA Osasuna has been cancelled at short notice due to a death.

As the leader of the Primera División announced immediately before the scheduled kick-off at 21.00 p.m., the match has been postponed to a later date. The reason for this is the death of team doctor Carles Miñarro Garcia on the evening of the match day.
Media reported that Barcelona president Joan Laporta went to the team's dressing room shortly before the scheduled match and told the players and coaching staff the news. Osasuna goalkeeper Sergio Herrera was already warming up on the pitch when the official cancellation was made. He was then asked to leave the pitch.

National goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen, who is currently out injured at FC Barcelona, was shocked by the doctor's death. "I am at a loss for words. I send all my strength and support to your family and friends. Rest in peace. We will miss you very much and always carry you in our hearts, Carles," ter Stegen wrote on the X platform.The CA Osasuna team also reacted with sadness, expressed its condolences to Garcia's family and assured Barça and its fans of its sympathy. La Liga also confirmed the cancellation and postponement of the game. They said they regretted the death of team doctor Miñarro. For this reason, the game will be postponed to a later date.
