As the leader of the Primera División announced immediately before the scheduled kick-off at 21.00 p.m., the match has been postponed to a later date. The reason for this is the death of team doctor Carles Miñarro Garcia on the evening of the match day.

Media reported that Barcelona president Joan Laporta went to the team's dressing room shortly before the scheduled match and told the players and coaching staff the news. Osasuna goalkeeper Sergio Herrera was already warming up on the pitch when the official cancellation was made. He was then asked to leave the pitch.

National goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen, who is currently out injured at FC Barcelona, ​​was shocked by the doctor's death. "I am at a loss for words.
