Genoa wins first game with Balotelli

Genoa picked up big points in the relegation battle on Mario Balotelli's debut. A curious match, meanwhile, was that between Lazio and Cagliari on Monday evening.

The 34-year-old was presented as a new signing at Genoa last week. On Monday, the striker made his debut in the match against Parma (1-0). Balotelli was substituted in the 86th minute and was shown the yellow card just six minutes later. Andrea Pinamonti had scored the decisive goal shortly before (79th). Genoa climbed to 17th place and now has nine points, like Parma.

At the same time, Empoli celebrated an important 1-0 victory against Como in the relegation battle. Pietro Pellegri became the match winner, scoring the winning goal in the 47th minute.

At the end of the 11th matchday, Lazio celebrated a 2-1 victory against Cagliari. Boulaye Dia scored the opening goal in the 2nd minute, but Zito Luvumbo equalized before half-time. After Mattia Zaccagni converted a penalty in the 75th minute, events took a dramatic turn. Yerry Mina and Michel Adopo were sent off at the same time. With two men less, Cagliari were unable to equalize.
