Inter does not give away gifts

Even though Christmas is just around the corner, defending champions Inter did not think about handing out presents: The Milanese celebrated a hard-fought victory against Como on Monday evening.

After little action in the first half, Inter's Carlos Augusto headed in a corner to make it 1-0. With the lead behind them, the Nerazzurri took it easy again, but were closer to making it 2-0 than the visitors were to equalizing. Marcus Thuram finally made the decision in injury time.

Ultimately, it was a deserved victory for Milan, who did not let anything slip defensively. This means that defending champions Inter remain at the top of the table. The current third-placed team is currently three points behind leaders Atalanta, although Inter have played one game less.

In the early evening match, Udinese turned the game around away at Fiorentina: After trailing 0-1, the Friulians won 2-1. Moise Kean had put the home side in the lead, Lorenzo Lucca and Florian Thauvin turned things around in the second half.

Serie A continues next weekend. Inter will be visiting Cagliari on Saturday, second-placed Napoli will host Venezia, and league leaders Atalanta will face fourth-placed Lazio away in a top clash.
