Juve blunder just a minor matter: Italy fears for Edoardo Bove

Juventus gave up a win in Lecce in the very last minute of the evening match of the Serie A. However, the sporting events were only a marginal topic on this Sunday evening, with everything revolving around the health of Edoardo Bove.

Bove collapsed on the pitch during the match between Fiorentina and Inter and was taken from the stadium by ambulance to the intensive care unit of a hospital in dramatic moments. The match was abandoned (SportNews berichtete).

Many players and coaches in Florence were crying, as could be seen on TV footage. Many of those present were clearly shocked, some prayed. But in the evening the all-clear was given.

Bove in stable condition

Bove is being treated at the Careggi University Hospital in Florence, the club announced in the evening. According to initial cardiological and neurological tests, Bove is in a stable condition and no acute damage to the nervous system or to heart and lung functions has been detected.

After Bove's emergency became known, many Serie A clubs reacted on social media and expressed their condolences. "We are all with you, Edoardo," wrote record champions Juventus on X.

The Turin team played against Lecce in the evening match. They took the lead thanks to a deflected shot from Andrea Cambiaso, but in the last minute of stoppage time, ex-Milan star Ante Rebic scored the southern Italians' deserved equaliser. There was exuberant celebration in the Stadio Via del Mare, although the shocking images from the afternoon only faded into the background for a short time.
