Transfer snippets | Milan rebuilds its midfield

AC Milan has significantly restructured its central midfield this summer. In addition to Samuele Ricci and Luka Modric, a Swiss player is now joining the Rossoneri – and he won't be cheap.

Ardon Jashari was named Player of the Year in the Belgian Pro League last year. Now the 23-year-old is moving from Club Bruges to AC Milan for around €35 million. Jashari was trained in the Lucerne youth system and is now also a Swiss international. Jashari emphasized that his only option for him is Milan, his beloved club – despite offers from the Premier League and Saudi Arabia. With his mentality and class, he is expected to become a key midfield player for returning coach Max Allegri.

What else is happening in Serie A? Luka Jovic has left AC Milan and is moving to Greece with AEK Athens. Former FCS defender Martin erlic leaves Bologna for Denmark's Midtylland. Two other Swiss midfielders have transferred to the club: Simon Sohm goes from Parma to Fiorentina for 15 million euros, while Michael Aebischer from Bologna to newly promoted Pisa. AS Roma has signed defender talent Daniele Ghilardi snapped up by Hellas Verona.

What else is new on the international market? Chelsea have once again dug deep into their pockets. The 19-year-old left-back Jorrel Hato comes for 45 million euros. The Dutch veteran Luuk De Jong goes from PSV Eindhoven to FC Porto.
