All points gone: FCS opponents severely punished

Cosenza Calcio is already considered a candidate for relegation, and now the mission to avoid relegation is becoming even more difficult. The association court has taken tough action against the southern Italians.

Cosenza started the season well with four points from three games. However, this tally has now been reset to zero, as the Calabrian club has been penalized with a four-point deduction. This means that they have been catapulted from the top half of the table to the bottom of the standings.

Cosenza has been punished by the Italian Football Federation's supervisory body for offenses in the administrative area of club management. In addition, it must pay a fine of 10.000 euros. Cosenza is currently considering an appeal against the ruling.

FC Südtirol will be visiting the Stadio Gigi Marulla in Cosenza in just over a month. Until then, the blue-reds will try to climb out of the bottom of the table again.
