FC Südtirol loses significantly against the Serie A club

FC Südtirol suffered its first defeat in the third preparatory game. And this was clear.

The second division team was beaten 0-4 by Serie A club Sassuolo in Vipiteno. After the test game successes against the amateur footballers Selection Ridnaun Valley and the ASC St. Georgen This was the first small setback for the newly assembled FCS team.

The two-week preparation program noticeably stuck in the white and red's legs. In the 14th minute, Brazilian international Matheus Henrique put Sassuolo in the lead with a fine individual move, and around ten minutes later, former FCS defender Martin Erlic headed in to make it 2-0. In the 31st minute, Matteo Rover had the South Tyroleans' best chance, but his finish from a Casiraghi cross slammed against the post. In the second half of the game, Sassuolo striker Gregoire Defrel increased the score with a brace. He made the final score 4-0 with a remarkable side kick.

Defrel's strike partner, Andrea Pinamonti from Nonstal, came away empty-handed in the end. From the 67th minute he took a place on the substitutes' bench next to Merano's young man Daniel Theiner, who is currently the substitute goalkeeper at Sassuolo.
“We created two or three chances really well.” FCS coach Pierpaolo Bisoli

FCS coach Pierpaolo Bisoli analyzed the clear defeat as follows after the game. “We conceded three goals after not paying attention to set pieces. Although I have to say: We haven't practiced stationary balls in this first preparation phase. I liked that we created two or three chances really well.”

Three days off training

After the strenuous training camps in Ridnaun and Naturns, the FC Südtirol professionals can now put their feet up. After a three-day break, season preparation will continue from Monday in the FCS Center.
