Game of the week: Naturns celebrates a last-minute win against St. Martin

Naturns, which was brought back from the Landesliga to the Oberliga before the start of the season ("ripescaggio"), started very energetically and had its first opportunity in the fifth minute when Bacher shot from the edge of the penalty area, but Platter was able to hold on to the weak shot without any problems. Just 60 seconds later, Platter and Bacher were once again the focus. The Naturns center forward put the ball a little too far forward, Platter came out and snatched the ball away from him. He lightly touched the number “9” from Naturns, but there was no whistle from referee Davide Barozzi.

In the tenth minute the next tricky situation. Hans Rudi Brugger received the ball in the penalty area. The center defender's arm was ajar, which is why the referee again (and probably rightly) did not award a penalty.

After that the game became increasingly flat before things really got going again after just over 25 minutes. First, Moriggl tried with a great shot, which Platter, who had to take a really long shot, skillfully deflected into the goal (27th). On the other side, just 60 seconds later, Pamer tried a dropkick that was worth seeing, but it sailed just past the far corner.

Naturns attacks, St. Martin takes the lead Then it was the home team’s turn again. A long ball reached the advanced captain Armin Rungg, who hit a perfect cross into the six-meter area to Bacher, but the center forward headed it at goalkeeper Platter from a few meters away. That should have been 1-0 (29th). Five minutes later the bell could have rang on the other side. After a major defensive mistake, Pamer shot on the edge of the penalty area, but Rungg, who had been unemployed until then, reacted and fended off the fluttering ball with his fists.

Just a minute later, the Naturns number “1” was powerless. After a long ball from Hans Rudi Brugger, Daniel Lanthaler extended with his head, Pamer evaded Armin Rungg and scored with a powerful left-footed shot from the left side into the far corner. 1-0 for the guests – a flattering lead.

Lanthaler's masterpiece Naturns seemed hampered by the deficit, while the “Mortiner” now had their best phase. Four minutes after the opening goal, Lanthaler skillfully received the ball, outplayed a defender with his heel, but the subsequent lob ended up just wide of the goal. If the ball had landed in the net, then Lanthaler would have already had an application for "South Tyrol's goal". Monthly".

On the other side, Bacher shook off a defender after a throw-in, then served Lago, who was lurking in the middle of the penalty area, but the Argentinian newcomer from Naturns chased the ball well over the goal.

The guests again had the last chance of this entertaining game when a St. Martin attacker shot at the near corner after a commotion in the penalty area, but Ulrich Rungg was able to excel again. With the narrow lead for St. Martin we went into the locker room.

Naturns with a lot of commitment After the break, Naturns started very powerfully again, but nothing significant came of it at first. Among other things, a goal was disallowed due to an alleged offside position. So the tirelessly toiling yellow-blue team made play after play, but Jakob Moriggl & Co. reached the end at Platter at the latest.

In the 74th minute, Martin Ramiro Lago tried from the edge of the penalty area, but the ball went over. Just five minutes later, a long-range shot from Sanson fell too centrally, so Platter had no trouble. Sanson also tried from a distance in the 86th minute, but the ball went past the goal on the left.

Brugger's blackout It was like magic: Naturns tried hard, but the ball just didn't want to go into the goal. And if Hans Rudi Brugger hadn't had a short blackout in the 88th minute, this game would probably have ended with a narrow away win for the “Mortiner”. But as it was, events rolled over again. Brugger intercepted an attack, but instead of knocking the ball away, he dribbled his way into central midfield. Naturns switched quickly and Brugger was the last man in his own penalty area to pull the emergency brake and brought Bacher down. Referee Barozzi immediately pointed to the penalty spot and gave the former FCS professional a red card. Captain Armin Rungg safely converted the penalty for Naturns and equalized.

The equalizer spurred the home team on. In the 90th minute, Lago tried with his left, but the ball went past the far corner. 60 seconds later, Bacher wanted to know with his head (after a Moriggl cross), but the ball went out of the goal again. Then, in the 93rd minute, they managed to score the winning goal. After a long shot, the ball landed at Bacher, who didn't need to be asked twice at the edge of the penalty area and beat Platter with a powerful shot. The cheers knew no bounds among players and fans - also because it was over just a few seconds later.
