Sports bowling: The away teams come out on top

Tirol Mutspitz recorded their only home win last week with a 6-2 win (3391:3255) against Vöran. Franz Mittelberger in the ranks of the Tschöggelberger defended himself against the defeat with the best performance of the day of 602 wood, but was unable to prevent it. For Mutspitz it was the first win of the current season.

The bowlers from Passeier have already had reason to celebrate twice. This time they “hijacked” two points from Brixen. Driven by the outstanding Hugo Ennemoser (pictured), who brought down 606 pins, Passeier prevailed 5:3 (3337:3288). Also far from home, promoted Burggräfler won at Jenesien. However, the 7:1 does not reflect the exciting course of the game, as both teams were ultimately only separated by 16 pins (3295:3279). The best thrower was Joe Sieder (Burggräfler) with 592 pins.

Fugger Sterzing earned two points at Sarnthein. The Wipptalers had a hard time on the challenging track in the Bürgerhaus (3329), but the hosts (3262) were unable to use this to their advantage. At least Sarnthein was able to celebrate the best player of the game: captain Hannes Kröss hit 589 pins.

Meanwhile, St. Georgen prevailed 7:1 (3348:3224) against Lana. In the very one-sided game, the “Jergina” had the action under control from the first throw. The best individual performance was achieved by Christian Mocanu (St. Georgen), for whom the counter stopped at 591 wood.

Because Neumarkt took part in the NBC Cup, the sixth and final game became the second Round postponed to October 19th. The champions have to play away in the derby at Kurtatsch.

Pfalzen dupes Villnöß – Carmen Brunner achieves track record

Pfalzen caused a huge surprise for the women. The Puster quartet defeated the former champions Villnöß 4:2. Pfalzen showed a very compact team performance of 2123 blades, which the guests didn't have enough to counter. Nathalie Profanter's individual best performance of 552 pins didn't help either.

The two newcomers suffered a 0-6 defeat: Vöran Blecherne had to admit defeat to Pfeffersberg, the Val Venosta lost at home to Meran. At Pfeffersberg, Carmen Brunner stood out above all other players because she set a new individual track record at the “Oberwirt” with 584 woods.

Los Birillos and Fugger Sterzing (2162:2211) played a high-class game, which went to the Wipptal team 4-2. Fugger's Enikö Tòt swept 576 pins off the lane. Two games have to be played later this week, namely Burggräfler against Deutschnofen and Plose against Tirol Mutspitz.
