St. Georgen climbs to the top of the table

St. Georgen used this involuntary break to sneak past Neumarkt and Vipiteno thanks to a 6-2 away win (3420:3220) at Jenesien and promptly climbed to first place in the table. The best player of the match was Alex Posch with 596 woods. The youngster, who moved from Pfeffersberg to Pustertal in the summer, turned out to be a reliable performer with the “Jergina” after just a few weeks.

Kurtatsch's second win in a row came on the third matchday. Driven by the outstanding Aaron Peer Pratzer (618), the Unterlanders put Lana's team in their place 6:2 (3322:3206). Passeier, who came third last year, won in front of their own audience against newly promoted Naturns 6:2 (3308:3249). Here Manfred Schnitzer (Passeier) narrowly missed the 592 with 600 blades.

Joe Sieder and Ivan Costadedoi led Burggräfler to a 597:5 away win in Sarnthein (3:3379) with 3346 bowls each. The two players made the difference in an otherwise even game. Schnals also wrote last week, thanks to a 6-2 home win against newly promoted Ratschings (3324:3284). Here Stefan Weithaler from the Schnalser Keglern particularly stood out with 595 blades.

Women: Vipiteno sole leader

After the third match day, only one women's team can show a clean slate. It's Fugger Sterzing, which brought Passeier to its knees 6-0. Deutschnofen, on the other hand, suffered their first defeat of the season at Burggräfler, while Plose had to be content with one point in the promoted duel against Pfalzen. Meran won 5-1 at home against Pfeffersberg, as did Tirol Mutspitz in the derby against Vöran. Villnöß, on the other hand, was happy about a 5-1 win at Los Birillos.

St. Georgen climbs to the top of the table
