European Mountain Running Championships: Only Anna Hofer and the U-20 women’s team are cheering

The Azzurri were actually considered big favorites in the uphill competition at the European Mountain Running Championships in France. In the end, only the U-20 women's team around Anna Hofer had reason to be happy.

The heavy rain and the deep ground drove the Azzurri to despair at the European Mountain Running Championships. Anna Hofer also had to struggle with the difficult conditions. In 45.39 minutes, the woman from Rabland achieved eighth place on the 6 km long uphill route (800 m). The best Italian was Licia Ferrari. She finished seventh (45.27). In the end, the Azzurre were able to celebrate third place with 35 points.

Cesare Maestri had a really busy day in the men's race. The Trentino defending champion only finished in a disappointing 50.56st place in 41 minutes. Things didn't go much better for Elia Andrea (15th), Francesco Puppi (16th) and Henri Aymonod (19th).
