Good weekend for South Tyrolean track and field athletes

The Merano juniors are already in impressive form in this young season. 18-year-old Emily Vucemillo won the general class race (3.230 m) in 11.20 minutes ahead of her teammate and last year's winner Lisa Leuprecht. The Lanan woman was 18 seconds behind Vucemillo at the finish. Behind Gioia Chiesurin from Trentino (11.47), two other SCM athletes, Nike Frick (11.51) and Anna Hofer (11.56) from Rabland, came in 4th and 5th place. 8th place went to Sandra Sparer from Sarnen. U18 talent Emma Ghirardello Pichler came eleventh. Lena Trenkwalder from Vipiteno took second place in the U16 race. The 19-year-old Paolo Rossi from Running Meran impressed with 6th place in the general class race after a long injury break. However, there was a South Tyrolean victory in the men's Masters competition over 4730 m. Georg Premstaller from Sarner was at the top in the M40 category. Manfred Kritzinger from SG Eisacktal came third in the M55 run, Rosanna Barbi Lanziner held her own in the Over 65 class. South Tyrolean women shine in Padua The traditional indoor meeting in Padua was also on the agenda at the weekend. Nathalie Kofler, Sara Buglisi and Marie Burger were there. The 21-year-old Lanan pole vault ace Kofler recorded her first 4-meter jump of the season, finishing second behind Elisa Molinarolo (4.30). Merano walker Sara Buglisi, on the other hand, won the 3000 m competition in 14:15.66 minutes. Both Buglisi and Kofler were injured for a long time last year and were almost always out of action. Marie Burger from Vahrn also impressed at the meeting in Padua. Two days after her 19th birthday, the junior from SSV Brixen ran the 60 m hurdles in 8.80 seconds, which was enough for fifth place in the end. Burger improved her personal best by eight hundredths of a second.
