Masters World Cup in Austria: Four bronze medals for South Tyrol

All women and men over 55 years of age had to cover a 7,2 km long route (760 hm), for the M35 to M50 men the distance was 11,5 km (1100 hm). The fastest South Tyrolean was Günther Angerer from Vinschger, who took bronze in the M40 category in 1:05.29 hours and missed silver by just 24 seconds. Third place also went to Martin Obexer from Funes in the M50 category and Albert Rungger from Sarn in the M60 class. The 62-year-old was only 13 seconds short of silver. A bronze medal also came from the women: Marlene Zipperle from Lanan came third in the W60. She beat Rosy Pattis to fourth place. Two more fourth places came from Johanna von Dellemann (W40) and Karl Gruber (M45).

Masters World Cup in Austria: Four bronze medals for South Tyrol

755 runners, including 45 from South Tyrol, took part in the 15th edition of the Masters World Mountain Running Championships in Telfes in Stubaital. The South Tyroleans won precious metal four times: Günther Angerer, Martin Obexer, Albert Rungger and Marlene Zipperle won bronze in their age group.
