Roland Weissteiner and Petra Pircher win the company run in Neumarkt

The participants had to complete a 2,6 km circuit twice. Among the women, Petra Pircher from Hoppe AG was once again in a class of her own. After second place in 2 and victory the previous year, she won again this year with a 2008-second lead over Barbara Egger (painter Tom Grünbacher) and Christa Rauch from the Merano private clinic Martinsbrunn, who came third for the third time in a row.

Among the men, Roland Weissteiner from Vipiteno was the fastest. He needed 5,2 minutes for the 17.00 km route and missed his best time from 2006 (15.49) by over a minute. Seven seconds behind Weissteiner, Manfred Kritzinger from Völs came second, third place went to Michael Burger from Vinschger (Volksbank Running Team).

But Kritzinger won the men's team championship with Herbert Gross. The two runners from Schotterwerke Kritzinger won in 34.19 minutes. They missed the Gartner Sports course record from the previous year (32.31 minutes - Weissteiner-Bourifa) by almost two minutes. Second place went to Andreas Pircher and Michael Burger from the Volksbank Running Team (35:22), who won the company run in 2006. Third place went to defending champion Gartner Sports with Roland Weissteiner and Fabrizio Bernabei.

In the women's category, mountain bike World Cup rider Barbara Oberdorfer and Sonja Trogmann from Athesia won in 43.57 minutes. Only nine seconds behind, last year's winner Privatklinik Martinsbrunn (Christa Rauch and Elisabetta Zanetti) had to settle for second place, ahead of Wobi Bozen (Wally Kaser, Thea Kelderer.

The mixed title went to Petra Pircher and Hubert Pamer from Hoppe AG St. Martin in 39.22 minutes. Annemarie Schöpf and Gerald Burger from the municipality of Mals came second, exactly one minute behind, Barbara Egger and Tom Grünbacher took third place. The Volksbank had the largest team with a total of 32 participants, 24 runners were registered by the Dreika company and 20 by the community of Bruneck.

The 6th South Tyrolean Banking Championship was also held in Neumarkt at the same time. Südtiroler Volksbank won the men's title for the sixth time in a row with Michael Burger and Andreas Pircher. As in the previous year, the Volksbank (Maria Zöschg and Manfred Preindl) also prevailed in the mixed competition, while the Raiffeisen Landesbank (Stephanie Pichler and Evi Rungg) won the women's competition.

This year, however, the community championships were held in Neumarkt for the first time. The men's titles went to the municipality of Eppan (Alex Oprandi and Thomas Seppi), the women's titles were won by the municipality of Bruneck (Annelies Zöggeler and Maria Harasser) and in the mixed doubles the municipality of Mals (Annemarie Schöpf and Gerald Burger).
