South Tyrolean triumph at Naturnser Sonnenberg

On the shortened route, the Naturnser Sonnenberg hosted an absolute spectacle of extreme sports events for the second time on Saturday. On the “Sunny Mountain Trail”, numerous top international athletes made their way up the mountain over 2 kilometers and 29 meters in altitude. There were also numerous South Tyroleans who won big. Luca Pescolldung from Val Badia was received with thunderous applause on the town hall square in Naturns, where the race also started. With a strong time of 2:42.05 hours, the runner from Stern left his competitors behind and took victory in the “Sunny Mountain Trail” event. Another South Tyrolean, Lukas Gasser from Rasen/Antholz, followed 52 seconds behind. Gil Pintarelli from Trentino came third (+2,19 minutes). With Lukas Mangger from the ASV Freienfeld running club, Henry Hofer from Sarnen and Marco De Salvador from Bolzano, three other South Tyroleans also made it into the top 3. The top international athletes Marcel Höche from Germany and Alexander Hutter had to settle for 10th and 4th place . The South Tyroleans did not expose themselves The women also had something to celebrate. Julia Kessler from Merano crossed the finish line in second place after the 29 kilometers. The South Tyrolean only had to admit defeat to the German Anna Hahner, who crossed the finish line with a time of 3:16.55 hours, 46 seconds ahead of Kessler. These two runners were in a class of their own throughout the entire race. Third-placed Claudia Sieder from Pustertal was already 16.22 minutes behind, but was still happy about a podium finish. Last year's winner Edeltraud Thaler ended up in 21.21th place, 4 minutes behind. As with the “Sunny Mountrain Trail”, a South Tyrolean won the “Naturns Sky Race”, which ran parallel over 15 kilometers and 1150 meters in altitude. Armin Larch (1:18,16 hours) from Mareit won ahead of Johannes Klein (1:20,12/Germany) and Andreas Innerebner (1:23,25) from Sarntal. In the women's race, Anneliese Felderer (1:38.26), also from Sarntal, triumphed ahead of Kim Schreiber (1:41,30/Germany) and the Italian Giulia Marchesoni (1:44.11).
