Women's Run Brixen: Participant limit reached

Two months before the 2th edition of the Women's Run Brixen, the participant limit has been reached. 12 women have registered since registration opened on March 1000th and will be at the start on August 8th at the Cathedral Square in Brixen - and will be running for a good cause.

Who would have thought: 2 months before the 12th Women's Run Brixen, all starting places are taken. The organizers of the ASV Brixen Dolomiten Marathon set a target of 1000 women and have now achieved this. "We are overwhelmed and did not expect to be sold out so quickly," says Petra Ellecosta from the organizing committee. The participant limit of 1000 women was already broken last year. The organizing committee is particularly pleased that the demand is so high again this year. "The event is unique in South Tyrol and the participants seem to enjoy it a lot," says Christian Jocher, president of the organizing committee.

The participants run for a good cause again this year - the initiative "es geat di a un - tocca a te" is supported by donations, which provide quick and unbureaucratic support to women in violent situations. 10.000 euros were donated last year - money that benefits women who have come from or are in violent situations

Colorful program. On Friday, August 30th, the official opening starts at 18 p.m.; the traditional warm-up takes place from 18.30 p.m. so that the solidarity run through the old town of Brixen can start promptly at 19 p.m. After the run, it's time to party: from 20 p.m., the Brixen band "Sitting Bull" will play on the cathedral square; food and drink will be provided. All women who were unable to get a starting place this year are invited to cheer on the runners and celebrate with them. Men are also welcome and can support the women along the route or on the cathedral square - and of course celebrate with them.
