Max Verstappen becomes father for the first time

Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen and his girlfriend Kelly Piquet are expecting a baby.

The Dutch Red Bull star announced his partner's pregnancy on Instagram. "Mini Verstappen-Piquet on the way. We couldn't be happier with our little miracle," the 27-year-old wrote on a photo of the couple together.

Verstappen has been in a relationship with the German-born daughter of Brazilian racing driver Nelson Piquet since 2020. While Verstappen is becoming a father for the first time, this is Piquet's second child. She has a daughter from a previous relationship with former Red Bull driver Daniil Kvyat.

Verstappen secured his fourth consecutive world championship title in Las Vegas just two weeks ago. The last of 14.00 races of the season is scheduled for Sunday (24 p.m.) in Abu Dhabi.
