Vettel's return to Formula 1? "We're working on it"

For Sebastian Vettel, a return to Formula 1 as a driver is no longer an option, even at the request of his children. However, the German could certainly imagine a career as an official.

"The kids said I couldn't start riding anymore because it's so nice to be here. It's great to hear something like that," said the four-time world champion in the Sky podcast "Hardenacke Meets."

Vettel ended his Formula 2022 career after the 1 season and has since been involved in social projects, among other things. The 37-year-old assured that he is not yet getting on the nerves of his loved ones at home. "Family peace still exists," Vettel said. "I've learned a lot about myself during this time. I'm very happy, I don't get bored," the German added.

Vettel is training to be a farmer

He continues to place "a lot of emphasis on spending time with his family," after all, time with his growing children is limited. Vettel has three children with his wife Hanna, and the family lives in Switzerland. The former racing driver is currently completing an apprenticeship as a farmer at the Pfäffikon Vocational Training Center.

Vettel has not yet made a decision about his future role in motorsport. Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko (82), a close confidant of Vettel, recently named the German as a possible successor. "Whether that's in the future remains to be seen," Vettel said.

He is also in talks with Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali about a possible position in the racing series' leadership team. "We're still fine-tuning what it might look like. But I don't want to impose myself," Vettel said.
