The Spanish motorcycle star celebrated his tenth victory in the eleventh sprint of the season at the Sachsenring on Saturday, extending his lead over Alex Marquez to 78 points. His brother, who recently underwent hand surgery, finished eighth, while Marc Marquez prevailed ahead of Italian Marco Bezzecchi and Frenchman Fabio Quartararo.

The best KTM rider in the wet conditions was Brad Binder in sixth. Ducati rider Marquez lost places early on, but overtook Bezzecchi on the Aprilia in the last fifteen laps. With Quartararo on the Yamaha, the podium was a mixed bag. The winner had also previously secured pole position for the main race of the German Grand Prix on Sunday.
