Escort girl strangled: Jan Ullrich arrested in luxury hotel

After his freak out in Til Schweiger's garden, Jan Ullrich should have started his therapy in a rehab clinic on Friday, according to "Bild". On Thursday he flew from Mallorca to Frankfurt.

However, there was no therapy on Friday. Ullrich took a room in a luxury hotel in Frankfurt and was visited by an escort lady. Then, in the early hours of the morning, the situation escalated: “There was said to be an argument and a physical attack on a woman. The accused is said to have choked her until her eyes went black,” the public prosecutor’s office said about the current status of the investigation.

The former cycling star and Tour de France winner, who recently made his drug problems public , was arrested. Ullrich is currently still in police custody; according to the public prosecutor's office, he was "under the massive influence of alcohol and drugs at the time of the crime in question."

Already arrested a week ago Ullrich was arrested by the police in Mallorca a week ago when he rioted on Til Schweiger's property. Following this event, the former cycling star decided to fight against his problems. With the new arrest, the Jan Ullrich case has taken another dramatic turn.

Ulrich was the only German racing cyclist to win the Tour de France in 1997 and became Olympic champion in Sydney in 2000. He later faced doping allegations and was banned from the Tour de France in 2006. He ended his career in 2007.
