Giro d'Italia: Weening wins – BMC defends lead

Pieter Weening won the ninth stage of the Tour of Italy from Lugo to Sestola, 172 kilometers away. The Dutchman from the Orica Greenedge team won at the 1.538 meter high Passo del Lupo. Meanwhile, Manuel Quinziato did valuable work for overall leader Cadel Evans.
