Eva Lechner in fourth place in Milan - UPDATE

Eva Lechner narrowly missed the podium in fourth place. The 21-year-old Swede Jenny Rissveds won, ahead of the 19-year-old Brit Evie Richards and Kathrin Stirnemann (26) from Switzerland. Rissved's winning time was 1:22.58 hours, Lechner was 2.28 minutes slower over the six laps.

In addition to the 30-year-old from Eppan, there were other bikers from South Tyrol at the start. Anna Oberparleiter took eighth place, Lisa Rabensteiner was 14th, Greta Seiwald came in 21st and Julia Tanner finished the race in 41st place.

In the men's race, the Swiss Nino Schurter won by a narrow margin ahead of the Azzurro Marco Aurelio Fontana and the Frenchman Stephane Tempier. Gerhard Kerschbaumer finished 13th, Maximilian Vieider appears to be in 18th place. Young Dominik Weiss was also at the start, but had to abandon the race after two laps.

Respectable performances in the youth categories were shown by Nina Jocher, who came sixth among the juniors, and Matthias Messmer, who came fourth among the students.

The MTB series “Internazionali d'Italia” will continue in just under two weeks with the Marlene Sunshine Race in Nals. The race will be presented on Wednesday at a press conference in Bolzano. However, Eva Lechner will not take part in her home race. She is traveling to the USA at the weekend, where she will start in two international races after the presentation of her new team (Luna Team). Then we go straight to Australia, where the World Cup starts on April 23rd.

The “Internazionali d'Italia” mountain bike series continued with a race in Milan on Easter Monday. The race took place on a circuit in the Monte Sella Park, which the locals also call “Montagnetta”.
