This weekend, the penultimate race weekend of the mountain bike season takes place in Lake Placid, USA. After the somewhat disappointing World Championship, Greta Seiwald has the opportunity to finish a challenging season that started strongly - including two 13th places and a 9th place - with a solid performance.
On Saturday, the Pustertaler finished 16th in the short track race (+19 seconds behind the winner). The 27-year-old had to battle an illness during the long break before the race weekend in the USA, so this result can definitely be considered solid.
The victory in New York State went to Sina Frei from Switzerland with a time of 19:41 minutes. Jenny Rissveds from Sweden took second place, three minutes behind, while Evie Richards from Britain came in third, just four seconds behind. The best Azzurra was Martina Berta, who came in seventh, 4 seconds behind.
The world champion continues to win
In the men's race, world champion Victor Koretzky of France won, narrowly beating Simon Andreassen of Denmark (+2 seconds) and South African Alan Hatherly (+2 seconds). Mountain bike legend Nino Schurter finished in fifth place (+5 seconds), while the best Azzurra, Luca Braidot, finished 11th (+11 seconds).Edit Profile
