Widmann misses final

Veronika Widmann missed the chance to make it into the top 15 final at the Downhill World Cup in Lake Placid (USA).

In the first qualifying round, in which ten athletes qualify for the final, Widmann had to settle for 18th place. In the second qualifying round, in which five other downhillers made it to the final 15, the Traminer native also failed to finish higher than eighth.

The final is scheduled for this Saturday, starting at 19 p.m. (CEST). Austrian Valentina Höll achieved the fastest qualifying time.

The cross-country athletes are also currently stopping in Lake Placid. Greta Seiwald from Gsies and Elian Paccagnella from Bolzano are not competing due to injuries.
