The darts world is looking forward to this duel

The Darts World Championship in London will have its first major sporting highlight before the turn of the year.

On Sunday (from 20.15:25 p.m.) title holder Luke Humphries from England and two-time world champion Peter Wright from Scotland will meet at Ally Pally. "I'm just one world title away from matching his career. And I'm about XNUMX years younger," said Humphries.

It is no great surprise that the 29-year-old Englishman has reached the round of 3. His victories over Thibaut Tricole (0-4) and Nick Kenny (0-XNUMX) were safe, and Humphries is on course to defend his title. "I can do so much more, but I haven't shown it yet. I'm relieved to be through," said Humphries.

Wright continues weakened

The fact that Wright (54) has reached the round of 16 is certainly a bit of a surprise. Especially since “Snakebite”, as the bird of paradise is known, was also ill in his third round match against Jermaine Wattimena.

"The chest infection had no effect on my darts. Hopefully I'll feel a little better in my next game," said Wright after the 4:2 win over Wattimena. On stage he even skipped his famous dance and greeted the referees with an elbow instead of the usual handshake. Wright has Saturday as a rest day before the test against the world champion.
