This darts lady is challenging the men

With these figures, Beau Greaves is rapidly approaching the absolute top of the darts world – specifically, the top of the men's world.

The young Englishwoman has gone 86 games unbeaten in the PDC Women's Series, collecting 13 titles in the process. Even the current world number one, world champion Luke Littler, was recently defeated by the 21-year-old.

"Everyone respects Beau Greaves," TV expert Elmar Paulke told the German Press Agency ahead of the rising star's performance on Friday evening (21.00 p.m.). At the highlight of the year in London's legendary Alexandra Palace, she will first face team world champion Daryl Gurney from Northern Ireland.

"It's going to be a great match in the first round, and I wouldn't want to be Daryl Gurney," said Paulke. The former world-class player apparently agrees. "Nobody wants to play against Beau. She's a fantastic darts player," said Gurney about his extremely unenviable draw for the first round.

On a record chase

Greaves' winning streak is reminiscent of legendary sports records: track and field athlete Edwin Moses once remained undefeated in 122 400-meter hurdles races, and tennis player Martina Navratilova won 74 matches in a row. Now, in between them – at least in terms of numbers – is by far the best of the five participating women.

“I love to play, I love the competition, that’s what drives me,” says Greaves. She opted out of the World Championship on the world’s biggest darts stage in 2024 and 2025. In 2023, she was defeated in her opening match by William O’Connor. However, she impressed at the Women’s Lakeside World Championship between 2022 and 2024, winning it three times in a row.

Littler comes to the aid of his rival

However, her rapid rise isn't to everyone's liking. On social media, Greaves faces harsh criticism and misogynistic comments. "We don't need this. Women shouldn't compete with men – no matter how good they are," one user recently wrote after she defeated Littler at the Junior World Championships.

Littler himself came to the defense of his competitor, who was three years older. He tagged the user and simply commented: "Are you high?" The 18-year-old Englishman's post quickly garnered more than 10.000 likes.
