Mini golf season in South Tyrol begins with a highlight

The setting is Italy's only felting facility in the Lagundo sports zone. The 32 best men and 8 best women in the 2021 and 2022 mini golf rankings are eligible to start. The three preliminary rounds begin on Sunday at 3 a.m. On Monday from 9:8 a.m. on the felt facility until the grand finale the knockout system will be played to win lanes. The defending champions are Paolo Porta from MGC Novi Ligure and Sonia Nardin from MC Aponense. The 1st Italian Minigolf Match Play Championship was held in Novi Ligure in 2022. Previously it was the Masters tournament, where the best in the rankings were chosen every year. Only once has a South Tyrolean mini golfer won the masters tournament: Andreas Dll'Acqua in 2019 in Arizzano. The native of Naturns is not eligible to play in the 2nd Matchplay Italian Championship because he did not play a tournament in 2021. South Tyrol is represented by the three-time minigolf Italian champion, Hannes Laimer from SV Lana, the track golf section manager from SV Lana, Kurt Unterhauser, the club president of the organizing MV Algund/Raiffeisen, Roland Brunello, Algunder Alexander, who has been playing for the GSP Vergiate since 3 Lang, Dieter Kaufmann from MGC Terenten and Francesco and Sara De Nardi from MV Algund/Raiffeisen. “I hope that we can bring the Italian championship off without a hitch. In the preliminary rounds, I would like to get myself into a good starting position for the knockout system with good results on Sunday, so that I can then move forward as far as possible on Monday,” explains the club president of MV Algund/Raiffeisen Algund, Roland Brunello. “My goal is to play as well as possible, then everything is possible in the knockout system,” says Alexander Lang.
