Daniil Medvedev had to cancel his participation in the Stadthalle on Thursday evening due to a persistent shoulder injury. "I have a lot of positive memories of the tournament. So it's a shame that I can't compete, but I will definitely play in Vienna again next year," said Medvedev, the 2022 Vienna winner.

With top seed Alexander Zverev (GER/ATP-3), who already completed his first training sessions in Vienna on Thursday, Alex de Minaur (AUS/9) and Grigor Dimitrov (BUL/10), there are still three top ten players at the start.
