Jannik Sinner lost a semi-final at a Grand Slam tournament. The disappointment about missing the final is understandable, but dismissing the 5-set defeat against Carlos Alcaraz as a failure is baseless.

It was not foreseeable a few weeks ago that Sinner would even be able to play the French Open. Even less so that he would leave France's capital as world number 1. A comment from Stefan Peer.
