Fun with friends: Sinner enjoys normal life

Jannik Sinner has found his feet quite well away from the spotlight. He enjoys his time off from tennis and has fun with his friends.

Although Jannik Sinner always comes across as a normal guy with his humane manner, nothing has been normal for the Sexten superstar in recent years. With his meteoric rise, Sinner has become Italy's most popular athlete, followed not only by fans but also by the media.

This is why the Sexten native is experiencing an unusual situation these weeks. Due to his suspension, Sinner is not allowed to play in tournaments or practice on official tennis courts. And so the world number one is currently living a completely normal life, far from the spotlight and media hype.

In February, the Sextner native was frequently seen on the South Tyrolean ski slopes, and for the past few weeks he's been working in Monte Carlo toward his comeback, which will take place in Rome at the beginning of May. But Sinner is also using the time to do the things a normal 23-year-old does.

Go-kart and a bike ride with friends

A few days ago, the South Tyrolean with some friends to a go-kart track in Busca (Cuneo Province), where the tennis superstar was racing in a mini-racing car. A passion that the Pustertal native continues to pursue in South Tyrol. This time, among those present were Formula 1 driver Antonio Giovinazzi (currently a Ferrari reserve driver) and professional cyclist Giulio Ciccone, two athletes who are among Sinner's close friends. Just a few days later, they were out together again, this time on a bike ride.

This time, Ciccone posted a photo of himself with Sinner, Giovinazzi, and racing driver Alessandro Pier Guidi. Ciccone (who won the mountains classification at the 2023 Tour de France) captioned the photo with a wink: "A bike ride with friends. For one of us, it was the first time. I'd say he did really well." He's probably referring to Jannik Sinner, as the other three are regular cyclists. So, the Sexten superstar isn't short on fun even in his tennis-free time.
