Battistoni and Molinari win 26th Lake Kaltern Triathlon

Around 600 participants took part in the 26th edition of the Lake Kaltern Triathlon on Saturday. In the men's category, last year's winner Giulio Molinari lived up to his role as favorite and climbed to the highest podium for the second time in a row. The triathlete from Piedmont won in 1:57.36,40 hours and reached the finish almost five minutes ahead of second-placed Danilo Brustolon. Croatian Dejan Patrcevic came third.

Meanwhile, the best South Tyrolean was Christian Hofer from LC Bozen, who reached the finish in 2:07.21,80 minutes and thus took seventh place. With Manuel Steinwandter, another South Tyrolean made it into the top ten (ninth place).

Verena Steinhauser shines among women Verena Steinhauser from Eisacktal caused a sensation among the women. The local triathlete was only beaten by Elisa Battistoni from the 707 team and took an excellent second place in 2:14.28,70 hours. In the end, she was almost three minutes behind the winner and the German Renate Forstner came third.

The national championship titles were also awarded in Kaltern. These went to Steinhauser and Christian Hofer.
