Two years ago, Gabriele Detti began his quest for the world championship title in Merano and a few weeks later won gold in the 800m freestyle at the World Championships in Budapest. Two years later, the 24-year-old from Livorno competed again at the Cool Swim Meeting in Merano and won the 400m freestyle in a very good time of 3:49.02 minutes. "The time wasn't so important to me today. That's a time I can swim four or five times in a row in training. We also trained this morning. I'm on the right track for the World Championships.
