Luca Scampicchio made a big statement at the start of the Junior European Championships in Samorin (Slovakia).

The gold medal is the first medal for South Tyrol at a Junior European Championship in 15 years. In 2010 in Helsinki, Lisa Fissneider won gold (50 m breaststroke) and silver (100 m breaststroke).
