South Tyroleans shine at the Euregio Swim Cup

For the third time, the Euregio Swim Cup came to an end at the Rovereto Swim Meeting.

The well-established event took place for the 6th time from June 8th to 16th in the 50m pool of the Centro Natatorio in Rovereto. After the stages in Innsbruck and Bressanone, almost 590 athletes from 28 teams competed, including many from South Tyrol. In the overall Euregio ranking, for which at least two stages were required, SC Meran took first place with 340 points, followed by Bolzano Nuoto with 330 points, and the home team, 2001 Team Rovereto, with 320 points.

In the overall ESC relay ranking, for which teams had to collect points in at least two stages of various relay competitions, Sportclub Meran also held its own ahead of Bolzano Nuoto and the 2001 Team Rovereto.

In the Euregio pentathlon ranking, which rewards the versatility of the young athletes and also required participation in two stages, three athletes from SSV Bruneck won gold: Florian Costner (pupils), Hannah Oberhauser (juniors) and Gaia Neidiger (absolute class), while Philipp Lintner from SC Meran dominated in the juniors and Luca Franzoi from Bolzano Nuoto in the general class.
