Close decisions: Italy’s women’s relay team is

The women's relay will take place in Antholz at lunchtime on Sunday. Italy's line-up has now been finalized.

Hannah Auchentaller, Dorothea Wierer, Samuela Comola and Michela Carrara will be racing for the Azzurre on Sunday from 12.05. This means that Rebecca Passler and Martina Trabucchi will not be taking part, although they will be Saturday in pursuit were still the best within the team.


"We don't know anything yet," said Auchentaller after the pursuit about a possible relay line-up. The decisions must not have been easy for the coaches. Shortly before 17 p.m., the International Biathlon Federation (IBU) announced the formations. The favorites include France, Germany and Sweden.

Italy's coaches will likely face difficult decisions at the World Championships in Lenzerheide. Behind Dorothea Wierer and the injured Lisa Vittozzi, the Azzurre team has five athletes of a similar level. In the overall World Cup, however, Auchentaller (30th), Comola (33rd) and Carrara (40th) are the best behind Wierer (11th). Form will also play a decisive role at the World Championships.

14.45 clock: 12,5 km pursuit men
