Linda Zingerle sprints to silver

Linda Zingerle started the sprint competition as the “defending champion”, so to speak. Last year she won gold in Lenzerheide (Switzerland). This time she was only beaten by the outstanding Slovenian Lena Repinc (who works in the same training group as the Tour de France winner Tadej Pogacar) by 5,2 seconds.

The woman from Antholz overcame a mistake in the prone position relatively easily, then she was outstanding on the cross-country ski trail and at the shooting range and confidently secured second place. “I felt in a good running mood, it went well, now I’m looking forward to the pursuit competition on Wednesday,” commented Linda Zingerle after the award ceremony. Overall, Italy's team presented itself very strongly this time. In addition to the medal winners, there were also good placings for Martina Trabucchi (10th), Sara Scattolo (24th), Marco Barale (7th) and Stefan Navillod (28th). Only Nicolò Betemps in 69th place was out of line and was unable to qualify for the pursuit competitions.

Linda Zingerle sprints to silver
